Sgt. Andrew Obuchowski, Police Officer, Member of a High Tech Crime Task
Force and Adjunct Professor at Anna Maria College:
Sgt. Andy Obuchowski, who has a Masters degree in Computer Forensics,
will present the basics of computer and other digital instruments
forensics and the necessary steps to take when preserving electronic
evidence so that the evidence will survive a challenge in court. He also
will present digital problems for law enforcement that members of the
audience will solve online.
Sgt. Corey MacDonald, Prosecuting Attorney, Portsmouth, NH, Police
Department, Member of the New Hampshire and Massachusetts Bar, Drug
Recognition Expert:
Sgt. MacDonald, who spent a year on MySpace.com as a school resource
officer, is recognized as the most knowledgeable law enforcement person
in the country on MySpace.com.
He will discuss how the emergence of social networking sites has
led to a tremendous amount of cyber-harassing and cyber-bullying
especially among teens and will explain how to discover and
investigate these cases.
Chief Pacheco will present the latest information on cell phones and
other miniature digital devices. He will outline the steps to be taken
when first encountering these devices in an investigation and how to
search and seizure any evidence on them. He will discuss how detectives
can best use technology to make their case. Chief Pacheco will not only
discuss the uses of technology by detectives but also the uses to which
criminals are using technology to commit crimes.
